4 Things You Need to Do with Your BIBLE

BillieandBible

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 17:17 & 8:32

No matter what you’re going through you can be free–free from bondage; free from strongholds; free from debt; free from generational curses… How do you obtain this freedom? The above Scripture says that it is the “truth” that will set you free. It actually goes deeper than that. When you examine it more closely it reveals that it’s the truth that you “know” that will set you free. In other words, the truth doesn’t really help you if you don’t know it. So what is the “truth”? Isn’t this an important question? Because you may believe something is true, but it really isn’t. Then you’ll become frustrated wondering why you’re not free. You may think people’s opinions about you are the truth, but it’s not. You may think what you see on television is the truth, you’d be wrong again. It’s not what the doctors report, what your therapist says, or what your horoscope reads. Let’s discover the “truth”, so we can discover our “freedom”.

“Sanctify them by Your truth. Your Word is truth.” John 17:17

The above Scripture tells us that God’s Word is truth. So it’s the Word of God that will set you free. Correction–it’s the Word of God that you “know” that will set you free.

“For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the Word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.” Hebrews 4:2

The Bible is full of power to set you free, but it’s not going to do you any good sitting on your coffee table. It can’t help you if you’re only using it to hold your birth certificates, funeral programs, baby hair, etc. You must learn your Bible. You need to study the Word of God, because it’s the knowledge that you learn from it that’s going to make you free. So today I want to share with you 4 Things You Need to Do with Your Bible:

1.    BELIEVE THE WORD – “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness…”  Romans 10:10

If you can’t believe much, then you can’t achieve much. You will not get far in your Christian walk if you don’t exercise this principle. You must believe what God says (Hebrews 11:6, James 1:6-8).

2.    SAY THE WORD - “But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way…”  Romans 10:16

After you fill your heart with the Word, start filling your mouth with it. There’s a certain way that Christians should be speaking. Your words are the result of what you believe in your heart (2 Cor. 4:13). Words are seeds. Every time that you say something, you plant something. If you say it, you sow it.

3.    DO THE WORD – “To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.” Proverbs 21:3

You have to put what you believe and speak into action. What good is a recipe if you never get in the kitchen? What good is exercising equipment if you never put it to use? Get into action!

4.    TELL THE WORD – “I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have declared Your faithfulness and your salvation…”  Psalm 40:10

After you do all of these steps, you will begin to see results. Your life will begin to change for the

better. But don’t just hoard it all up for yourself. Show someone else how to change his or her life. The highest form of success is not when you reach the top, but it’s when you pull somebody else up there with you.

I pray that this article was helpful to your Life. Let’s become students of the Word. Discover your Life in the Scriptures.

“Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15 AMP
