Miracles in the Midst: “Name It Claim It”

This term has become the norm: “name it and claim it” with church folks. What are you actually saying in the atmosphere? You are naming something or even someone you would like to see blessed, changed, or even believing for to happen by God. You are claiming the item or person you are believing for and giving them unto God. This is a miracle bound to happen before your very eyes, or believing for it soon. Not sure where this wording has came from, but from time to time, you will hear someone say it or use it in a time of need, or wanting something so bad and believing God will do it.

To some, it sounds so cliché but not many are truly fighting and going after what they named and claimed. I was also thinking this week, how we expect God to do miracles but we just sit there and do nothing. When you read about Moses, he surely didn’t just sit; he obeyed God’s commands and then witnessed miracles transform before their very eyes! (It’s getting Holy Ghost HOT in here).

In our everyday lives, I have casually heard single ladies say “I want my BOAZ.” I wonder do you know who Boaz was, and why would you want a Boaz when you are not Ruth. In other words, the man you desire and dream about, are you the woman that will be connected as “one” to be united with this person? Do you even know the story of Ruth? She wasn’t a woman looking for a man, but someone who was working in the fields to bring food on the table for her and her mother-in-law in a foreign country. She definitely wasn’t looking sexy or wearing revealing attire to catch a man. She was in a place and position for a divine man of God to recognize her in his fields which makes him a business man. She was about her business without being in this man’s business to tie the knot. He saw a woman who was determined, willing to listen and take his advice, she cared for the elderly (her mother-in-law), persevered through the storms and didn’t expect a man or anyone to help her, and learned how to pray and sing praises unto God. She was more than a beauty on the outside but someone who knew God in the insides. There is more than meets the eye.

Therefore, if women are searching for their Boaz, then why haven’t you become like Ruth. There are others who wished they were married to President Barack Obama, then you need to be the next Michelle. Moreover, we have to stop comparing our relationships to others. Instead of focusing on other people’s relationships and who they married that you may admire dearly, start to be the person you would like to marry. Do you want to marry you? For example, I love athletic physique men; so I have to get back athletic in the sense of working out, eating right, and getting my body tight. When I dated basketball players in high school, I was also an athlete too (played basketball, softball, and volleyball). So what you desire, you have to become.

So if you want a person who can cook, at least know how to prepare a meal yourself. If you desire a man with six-figures or even a millionaire, what are you doing to make millions? I heard that opposites attract, but you may have to know what you are attracting based on what you are bringing to the table yourself.  So if you are naming and claiming a man, single ladies, check with God and make sure he’s in the equation. Learn to enjoy your waiting season ladies, and that man will hunt to find you in the midst and conquer after the woman he loves. There is a miracle in the midst.
