Ruth’s Redemption by Marlene Banks

I am thankful the author contacted me months ago to read her work. Once I opened the book, I fell in love with Bo who seems like the genuine godly man and falls for the most beautiful woman, Ruth. He had no idea of her ghostly, deathly secret and now she wonders if this man could love her the same after sharing it. What a love story even though Bo is a freeman and Ruth was once a slave, but he bought her and later freed from her bondage in matrimony. Ruth had a difficult time realizing her freedom and learning about this god that Bo loves and believes in regardless of their enslavement-bondage that is harder for Ruth to shake off.

Marlene Banks wrote such a moving, heartrending, in depth story about love, forgiveness, and trials and tribulations that people had to undergo during the 1800s. She also cleverly introduced Nat Turner known as a prophet, pastor, and leader of the slave revolt. I cannot wait to see how this turns out and hope for a happy ending, or shocking one that makes me go hmmm.

*I received the book by Moody Publishers for a book review.
