VR: Hello Vanessa! As you already know, I am a huge fan of your books. But, it goes a little further. I love your name! Vanessa. Also, I am inspired by your tenacity and faith.  Your books are some of my favorite collector’s items.  Let’s chat about your latest release “The Other Side of Dare.”Is there a character who is redeemed?

VDG:  “The Other Side of Dare” is a continuation of the saga from “The Other Side of Goodness.” Gabrielle Mercedes is a woman first met in “Goodness and Mercy” who didn’t know the Lord but came to know Him. Now, she is dealing with many situations where she must trust God to help her get through it. And as with life, when you dare walk the walk in Christ, the enemy will come after you.

“The Other Side of Dare” features several characters who seem to want to cross a dare that has been made to them. One is Paris Simmons-Holyfield, the daughter of Alabama legislature Lawrence Simmons and the wife of a lawyer, Andrew Holyfield. She has her sights set on taking from Gabrielle in any way she can. Then there’s Darius Connors who always thinks of himself and will dare to cross any line to get it.

VR: Is there a dare to believe in self, love, God?

VDG:  “The Other Side of Dare” is a continuation of the saga from “The Other Side of Goodness.” Gabrielle Mercedes is a woman first met in “Goodness and Mercy” who didn’t know the Lord but came to know Him. VR: Upon completing a book, I look to leave with some type of motivational factor. Something that makes me think and want to pontificate about. What do you want readers to take away from your books?

VDG: I want readers to always see and feel the love and power of God in whatever situation faced. I want them to be encouraged in their own situations, knowing that God is the author and finisher of their family.

VR: The world is changing at an alarming rate. There is no getting by the fact that there are so many issues in our society that needs addressing. Turning a deaf ear and blind eye is NOT the answer. One can make a difference, but thousands can make a HUGE difference.  Heart should be opened and ears attentive. Vanessa, is there a social issue you address in this read?

VDG: In “The Other Side of Dare” I touch on the aftermath of secrets as well as the trust we place in one another. In “The Other Side of Goodness” I touched on bone marrow transplant and adoption. All of my books touch on something that people can look at their lives and see themselves in it. For instance, “Forever Soul Ties” deals with soul ties, those connections we might have that need to be dealt with that are hard to cut.

VR. When is your next book slated for release?

VDG: My next release, THE OTHER SIDE OF DIVINE, comes out July 30.

I guess you can say I’ve had a lot to have come after REDEEMING WATERS.
