‘Tis the season to be thankful

Article by Quiniece Sheppard

Well, it’s that time of year again.  ‘Tis the season to be thankful and give God the glory for the great things he has done for us in 2013.  I can’t believe Christmas is almost here, which means the end of 2013 is fast approaching.  I am excited about 2014 as I hope to publish my third book.  It’s been a few years since the last book was published in 2012, so the timing and season for it is perfect.  I believe in God’s time and season for everything.  I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know it will be mighty bleak if God wasn’t in it.  He has made the difference in my life as I never knew I would be where I am today: author and evangelist without the Lord’s hands on my life.  Wow!  God had far better plans for me than I had for myself and so I await 2014 with high anticipation and great excitement for what God is going to do with me, through me and for me.  God is good indeed.

We should take some time to reflect on 2013 and the events that happened that put a smile on our faces and those things that brought tears to our eyes.  They were all a part of God’s master plan.  Nothing happened that God wasn’t aware of.  The bible says that even the hairs on our head are numbered by God, which means that God knows about every detail of our lives.  Nothing is too small to him.  What we have to do more of is involve Him in every aspect of our lives.  Since he knows everything about us, then in 2014 we should strive to know everything there is to know about him.  Amen.

So, what are your plans for 2014?  Do you have anything exciting that you want to do?  Do you have anything you would like to accomplish?  I hope by now that you have thought about 2014 and the things you will make happen for yourself and for others as well.  I look forward to publishing my book, hosting the 4th Annual Worth the Wait Women’s Conference, evangelizing, traveling to California for my birthday and attending the Sheppard Family Reunion in Orlando, FL.  See, I already have the basic outline of my plans mapped out for 2014, but I know God will direct my path somewhere along those dates and time frames.  Ladies, you have to know where you are going in order to get there.  You may not have it all figured out and that’s okay as none of us do, but you should have a general idea of where you are going so you won’t get lost along the way.

I encourage you ladies to write the vision and make it plain as the book of Habakkuk 2:2 tell us to do.  Take some time out for introspection of your inner most thoughts and feelings and retrospection, examining your past and decisions you made.  Both are important to reflect on to we can see where we are and what areas we need to work on.  We have a lot of work to do ladies, so let’s get busy doing our Father’s business.  He’s the first person on my agenda and without Him, none of the basic plans I just outlined will happen.  We can only do it with Him leading us and guiding us along the way.  The bible says in Psalm 37:23 that the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.  Let us let him order our steps in 2014.  I look forward to next year.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy your holidays and enjoy spending time with your family and friends and cherish those moments you have together because life is not promised.  Time waits for no one for seize the moments and make them count.  I hope you have enjoyed reading my articles as much as I have enjoyed writing them.  This is my last submission since my main priority next year will be publishing and marketing my new book.  It has been a blessing to be able to sow these articles into your life.  I pray that they have blessed you tremendously.  God bless you all and I pray that you all have a wonderful, blessed, marvelous, joyous, loving and peaceful holiday season and New Year.
