Total Rejuvenation of the Body, Mind and Spirit

Greetings Readers:  This month I want to share with you an excerpt from a speech I did a few years ago talking about rejuvenation because with all that is going on with our families, jobs, economy, government, etc, we could use a pick me upper.  Every now and then, we face burnout and we get weary and tired, so it’s important that we stay focused on God by reading his word, fasting and praying.

Rejuvenated means to make young or youthful again or give new vigor to; to restore to original or new state; to stimulate; uplift (freshen, recharge, recreate, refresh, renew, repair, restore, revive, revitalize).  We need total rejuvenation in our body, mind and spirit.  The body helps improve our appearance and self-image.  It makes us feel confident about who we are and helps us to embrace our uniqueness and individuality.  The spirit allows us to connect more with God and our spirituality.  We grow more in Christ and take interest in the things of God; connecting with Him in our spirit is all about praise and worship and giving God reverence in whatever form of praise we do whether singing, dancing, writing, poetry, etc.  Finally, the mind educates, enlightens and motivates us to live life in abundance.

If any one of these things is missing or out of sync, then the other areas will be too.  One area is contingent upon the other one working for us.  For example, if our mind isn’t right, then our body and spirit will be out of sync.  Our mind is where everything begins: the bible states that so as a man thinketh so is he, so if we think it, we will believe it and if we believe it, we will achieve it.  In our mind, we think about opening up that new business, pray about it, fast about it (spirit and body) and then we step out on faith and present the business idea to the bank and the bank approves us for the loan.  It all began with a thought: we thought about it, believed it could happen and through God’s grace, it happened.

Our mind controls everything.  It controls our body and spirit.    Signals go through our mind first through our brain waves, then our body and spirit.  The key to all of this is positive, motivational thinking.  If we think negatively, we will have negative results because if we can’t conceive it in our mind, it won’t happen.

Why do we talk ourselves out of what we have seen and believed for in our minds?  If we’ve already seen it, then why talk ourselves out of what we have already seen?  We have a tendency to talk ourselves out of our own dreams and goals and since we are the only one to make it happen, then it doesn’t happen.  We allow Satan to quickly put things in our path and as soon as we stumble and fall or trip over some roadblocks on the way to our destiny, we doubt if the vision will ever come to pass and finally we give up on it entirely.  The vision won’t and can’t happen unless we make it happen.  Each one of us is in charge of our own destiny.  We have to believe it even when it doesn’t look believable because with God all things are possible.  I know it’s easier said than done sometimes, but faith without works is dead.  We have to have faith in ourselves if no one else.

We have to be mindful what we put in and on our temple. What we put on our body is important as what we put in your temple because it shows who we represent and what we stand for. Men are governed by what they see, so they will pay more attention to the lady wearing the short skirt than they would the lady wearing the jeans.

1 Corinthians 3: 16   “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him.  For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.” *Not only do we have to talk the talk, we also have to dress our walk as well.

So, in order to stay in the race that God has pre-destined for us to run, we have to be rejuvenated.  We need to ask God for a refreshing and a burst of energy to run our race at our own pace to get to where God wants us to be.  Stay in the race and get going again.  Be revived in your body, mind and spirit.  God bless you.  Love your sis, Quiniece AKA Lady Q
