When Will We Be Ready?

Greetings ladies: It’s that time again to share with you a message of inspiration, change and correction that we will help us to grow and mature as believers in Christ. In order for something to grow, you have to water it and so that’s what I strive to do with the articles that I share with you monthly. I’m trying to help us grow so we can be prepared and ready for whatever God calls us to do. I sure hope you enjoy reading these articles as I do writing them. This month I want to talk about being ready and preparing ourselves to receive Christ as that is the mandate that God has placed on my life: to get His people ready for His return. This is the season for us to prepare as God spoke that to me a few weeks ago and I don’t believe it was solely just for me. As single women, there are so many things we have to prepare ourselves for besides a mate. We have to prepare for ministry and finding out what our purpose is and operating in it and of course, we have to prepare ourselves for the return of our Savior. Since we always focus so much on finding a mate, I want to talk about preparing for our purpose and for God’s return.

So, let’s first talk about preparing ourselves for our destiny. Without a purpose, we don’t have a destiny. We have no idea where we are going. All we are doing is traveling down a road with no end, but a destination has an end. It’s the place that God has destined for us to be. We know where we are going if we follow Christ. Every now and then, we may get lost, but God puts us back on track to get us to that destination as He wants us to reach it far more than we desire to reach it. God desires for us to get to that place, but we have to prepare ourselves. We have to be ready to go and move when God says move. Ladies, now is the time to get that vision off the ground and to walk in obedience to God. When God prepares us for our purpose, God will prepare our mates.

I have no idea why people say being single is so lonely and boring, but that is not true. I do admit that at times I do feel alone and uneventful, but when you have a purpose, then that purpose gives you your passion and desires and it fulfills you to the point where you no longer feel hopeless and helpless as a single woman, but you feel needed and wanted. Your purpose gives you that besides it allows you to do what God created you to do and that will bring you great joy and fulfillment. I’m a witness to that being true as I’ve been single for quite some time, but as soon as I began operating in my purpose, I felt good about where I was and I enjoyed what I was doing. Ladies, my whole outlook changed when God told me what it was He wanted me to do and once I finally start doing it, it was fulfilling and I felt my life had meaning. Instead of just sitting and waiting on a man to make it happen, I trusted God to allow me to make it happen, so when the husband comes, I already have something happening for me.
Secondly, we have to prepare for God’s return for his people, which is imminent. Matthew 24: 6 tells us that during the end times, there will be wars and rumors of wars. Nations will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are beginning of sorrows. You will be hated by nations for Jesus sake. You will betray one another and will hate one another. Many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

So, after reading this scripture, we can see all of these things happening right now around the world. So, we have to ask ourselves a few questions to determine our readiness for Christ when He returns such as:
1. When are we finally going to get married and stop shacking up?
2. When are we going to stop going around in circles around our issues and finally walk the straight and narrow path? Some of us have been dealing with the same issue 10 years and nothing has changed, so when are we going to change?
3. When are we going to stop letting every man touch us inappropriately, but the one who wants to touch us in our hearts (Jesus Christ) we say no and we’re not ready.
So, may I ask when will we be ready? Will it be tomorrow, two weeks from now, next month, next year? The way things are going right now, we don’t know if we will even make it if we put it off any longer than tomorrow. That is how serious this is. Times have changed and we have to change as well.
4. For those of us who are saved, when are we finally going to honor our vows we made to the Lord that we would serve him until we died, but we jumped ship and went in the opposite direction? God didn’t file for divorce and he refuses to sign divorce papers, so we’re still married to Jesus.
It’s time for us ladies to honor our vows and walk in obedience to God. This is the season for preparation. Are you ready? If not, when will you be ready as time waits for no one. If you look at your clock or watch, it is ticking right? That clicking indicates time is changing and moving forward. We have to move with the time or we will be left behind. There is too much death, destruction, disease and a failing economy going on around us for us to take things lightly or take life for granted.

It’s time to improve, time to grow, time to stop playing church and actually start letting the church live inside us. It is time to move forward. Time always move forwards. Even when we have to set the clock back one hour in the Fall, time is still moving forward. We have to be aware of the times we are living in and what’s going on around us. It’s biblically based on God’s return for his people and we have to be ready. Again, I ask the question “When will you be ready? I hope today is your answer. God bless you ladies. Talk to you again next month.
