Where is Your MIND Located?

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”

Isaiah 26:3

Let’s break this Scripture down—study it, dissect it, meditate on it, so we can get the full understanding.

You – The first Word in this verse is “You”. This is referring to GOD.

Will keep him – The word “keep” means to stay; to be faithful to; to preserve or maintain.

In perfect peace – This is not the peace that the world gives, but the peace that GOD gives (John 14:27). This perfect peace is referring to wholeness, completeness; nothing broken, nothing lacking, nothing missing, and nothing taken away; it’s perfect restoration.

Let’s cover what we’ve discussed so far. God is a faithful God and He will make sure that you stay in His perfect peace, uninterrupted and unhindered. This is a promise from God. But who did God make this promise to? Let‘s continue to find out.

Whose mind is stayed on You – This promise is made to the people whose minds are stayed on God. Now this word “stayed” means the same thing as the word “keep” which we read earlier. In other words, God will keep you in perfect peace if you keep your mind on Him. As long as your mind is stayed on God, you’ll stay in His Peace. This reminds me of another verse.

“But if you remain in Me and My words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!” John 15:7 NLT

Be firmly fixed on God and His Word, and His peace will be firmly fixed on you. Will troubles still come? Sure. Will you still have problems? Of course. But you will overcome because you reside in the Peace of God. But God made this promise for a reason.

Because he trusts in You

Do you trust God? I mean, do you really trust God? Here’s a test to find out for sure if you really trust God or not, “Is your mind stayed on Him?” Because according to the Scripture, a person whose mind is stayed on God is also a person who trusts Him. Is your mind on God or your problems? Is your mind on the Word or your struggle? What are you focused on? What is your mind fixed on? Where can I locate your mind? It will reveal your trust. If you’re thinking to yourself, “My mind is not stayed on God…” don’t worry, all is not lost. It doesn’t mean that you’re a bad Christian and it’s not over for you. You just need to develop your trust by keeping your mind stayed on Him. You need to become a student of the Word of God. I want to help you.

Here’s 7 Simple Ways to Keep Your Mind Stayed on God:

1. Plan to pray. You’ll never find the time to pray, you must make the time. So you must make a plan or schedule. Some people like to do it when they first wake up in the morning. It really doesn’t really matter when you pray, just as long as you pray. A schedule gives you more assurance. Of course, you can pray more than what you’ve scheduled…but at least have a schedule.

2.  Invest in “The Life Package”.  This package includes autographed copies of BOTH of my Amazon Bestselling books, plus my exclusive MP3 Audio Teaching “The Word is Your Life”. This resource will not only help you to keep your mind on God, but it will increase your passion for Him. And you’re going to need passion to even complete the next steps that I have listed.

3. Purchase a good Study Bible that has commentary in it. There are many Study Bibles, but just to name a few: Life Application Study Bible, Spirit Filled Life Bible, ESV Study Bible, etc. The reason this is #2 on the list is because most people have a regular Bible, but maybe just not a Study Bible. If so, then you can use your regular Bible along with “The Life Package” until you’re able to purchase a Study Bible. If you don’t have a BIBLE at all, then do this step FIRST.

4. Get a notebook or journal to write in. It’s always good to write and take good notes, because your mind isn’t equipped to remember everything you read or hear. It doesn’t have to be real expensive. A low priced composition folder will do.

5. Get a good dictionary. It doesn’t have to be a Bible dictionary. I personally like the Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, which we often refer to as the *Red Dictionary*. You can purchase the dictionary or use it FREE online.

6. Get a Bible concordance. This will show you how to find every word in the Bible. Strong’s Bible Concordance is a popular one. I have the hardback book, but there may be an app for your phone or it may be available online.

7. Start going to Bible study. I know you may go to church service on Sunday mornings, but Bible studies go a little deeper into the Scriptures. Find out if your church does this or find a small group that meets weekly.
